Rajasthan: CISF jawan, who was to get married in February, shoots self in Bhilwara

JAIPUR: A CISF jawan posted at a camp of 9th Reserve Battalion of the paramilitary force in Hanuman Nagar area of Bhilwara killed himself with an AK-47 riffle during early hours on Tuesday. He died immediately as he sustained four bullet injuries. Police have not found any suicide note.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as B Ranjit Kumar. He was a resident of Tamil Nadu and was to get married next month. "There is a camp of 9th Reserve Battalion of CISF in Hanuman Nagar area.
During early hours, Kumar posted at Gate No. 2 of the camp shot himself with his service rifle.
Hearing the sound of the bullet, the soldiers stationed nearby reached there and rushed him to the hospital where he was declared brought dead," said a senior police officer "Four bullets were recovered from his body out of which two had pierced his chest. Prima facie, the AK-47 riffle was on automatic mode due to which four bullets were fired one after another," the officer added.
Police said that Kumar had joined the Deoli battalion in December last year. "He was to get married on February 21. His mobile phone has been found from the spot. We are trying to unlock the mobile phone with technical help to know the exact cause of the suicide.
On the other hand, the soldiers of the battalion are also surprised by the incident. Fellow soldiers say that Ranjit did not mention his problems to anyone. "They have said that he never shared or discussed any problem related to professional or personal life," the officer added.
Police have intimated his family who live nearly 300 km away from Chennai. "Postmortem of the deceased would be done after their arrival," the officer added.
