YouTube Bans Donald Trump's Account For A 'Minimum' Of 7 Days

YouTube has jumped on the bandwagon of banning Donald Trump from the platform almost a week after the Capitol riots.

The video platform issued a statement about the ban, via Variety.

“After review, and in light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence, we removed new content uploaded to Donald J. Trump’s channel for violating our policies. It now has its 1st strike & is temporarily prevented from uploading new content for a *minimum* of 7 days,” the statement shared.

YouTube stated that it had just removed a video that the current President’s team uploaded.

The video site added, “Given the ongoing concerns about violence, we will also be indefinitely disabling comments on President Trump’s channel, as we’ve done to other channels where there are safety concerns found in the comments section.”

YouTube was called out by several celebrities, include Borat 2‘s Sacha Baron Cohen, for being late to ban Trump.

Twitter and Facebook banned Trump from being on their platforms just days after the riots.

However, Trump did try and return to Twitter. See what happened…
