Tata Motors maintains winning streak for the third consecutive day on Wednesday as the automaker's sales improve amid Covid-19. The company has announced its Group sales of 2,78,915 units for the quarter ending December 2020 (Q3FY21).
The latest sales are 1% higher compared to the same quarter last year. The sales figures also include Jaguar Land Rover's performance.
Notably, passenger vehicles (PV) continue to be the star performer for Tata Motors as the Global wholesales of this segment stood at 1,88,550 units higher by 4% as compared to Q3 FY20.
However, the company's Global wholesales of all commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range in Q3 FY21 were at 90,365 units lower by 4%, over Q3 FY20.
Meanwhile, global wholesales for Jaguar Land Rover were 1,19,658 vehicles (JLR number for Q3 FY21 includes CJLR volumes of 17,078 units). Jaguar wholesales for the quarter were 22,466 vehicles, while Land Rover wholesales for the quarter were 97,192 vehicles.
On Sensex, Tata Motors stock has touched an intraday high of Rs248.80 per piece surging by nearly 5% so far today. The company had recorded an all-time high of Rs249.50 per piece in the previous trading session.
At around 12.24 pm, Tata Motors trade at Rs244.75 per piece up by 2.92% on Sensex.
