IG Jammu Zone visits Reasi, Ramban; reviews security

Jammu, Jan 12 (UNI) Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh on Tuesday visited the remote areas of Reasi and Ramban districts and reviewed the security scenario there.
A Police spokesperson said here that Mr Singh visited the sub-division Mahore area in district Reasi and sub-division Gool to review the security scenario.
He held public meetings and distributed sewing machines to NOKs of Martyrs at Mahore, the spokesperson added.
During his visit, the IGP Jammu Zone took a joint security review meeting in both districts, which was attended by officers from the Army, Intelligence and the Police.
Discussion was also held on the recent terror module busted by the Police and the Army in the past few weeks and guidelines were provided regarding further investigation of the cases.
The IGP Jammu listened to the public grievances and requested them to continue with their efforts, to ensure that terrorism in any form does not come up in these areas. He also requested them to help the Security forces in maintaining peace in the area.
While interacting with the officers from Police and CAPF at Mahore and Gool, the IGP appreciated the role of Police and other security forces in combating terrorism and bringing in peace and also appreciated the recent busting of a Hideout in Bhimdassa area by the Police and the Army.
Security measures have been put in place to foil any ill design being instigated from across the border, he added.
The IGP Jammu Zone also interacted with the Civil Society members and newly-elected DDC members and emphasised the need for enhanced Police Public cooperation, for providing better policing.
He said the civil society has a major role to garner people’s coordination in the eradication of social crime, drug menace and other unlawful activities.
Mr Singh congratulated the newly-elected DDC members and exhorted the DDC members and Sarpanches to work with extra zeal and dedication for Public Welfare.
