The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Monday night arrested the owner of the famous Muchhad Paanwala in connection with the ongoing probe into various drug cases.

The development comes after he was questioned by the NCB on Monday.

Jaishankar Tewari, famously known as 'Mucchad Paanwala', caters to several famous clients including Bollywood personalities, businessmen and industrialists.

His name reportedly cropped up during the interrogation of an arrested British national Karan Sajnani in a drug case. The British national, who lives in Khar, is allegedly the kingpin of an international and interstate drug racket.

Muchhad Paanwala is among the top 'paan' vendors in Mumbai and the country. The shop has been running since the 1970s in Kemps Corner with a growing clientele every year.

Operating since nearly 45 years, the outlet later became a rage among people.

In fact, in 2016, it became the first 'paan' outlet to host its own website to take online orders from his discerning customers.
