Chief Minister Hemant Soren along with chief secretary Sukhdev Singh, health secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni and principal secretary Rajiv Arun Ekka attended the meeting from the Project Building in Ranchi.
Ravi Shankar Shukla, the director of the state chapter of the National Health Mission (NHM), said:“The government of India is yet to officially notify the details of the arrival of the vaccines in the state but we are expecting to get the first consignment on January 14. At our end, we have completed all the crucial ground work required to store the vaccine.” Soon after Modi’s address to the chief ministers, the Union health department held marathon online meetings with the health departments of all the states.
Two vaccine centres will be connected online with the state and the central headquarters on the day of the launch for live-streaming. “Those two vaccine centres are in MGM Jamshedpur and sadar hospital, Ranchi,” Prasad said.
Jharkhand has so far identified 99.89 lakh people for Covid-19 vaccine inoculation, of which about 1.25 lakh beneficiaries were frontline medical workers who will be vaccinated in the first phase. The state has set up 275 vaccine storage points, nine walk-in coolers, five ice-lined refrigerators, 700 deep freezers, 5,505 cold boxes, and 41,979 vaccine carriers. Since January 2, two dry runs were held in the state as dress rehearsals for the mega day.
