Hyderabad: Telangana State Planning Board Vice-Chairman B Vinod Kumar said on Tuesday that he would strive for the welfare of Telangana Gulf migrants.

Interacting with Telangana Gulf Migrants Association members here, he said efforts were on to resolve the problems being faced by Gulf migrants hailing from the State.

The Association members urged Vinod Kumar to take necessary steps to set up a Telangana Gulf Migrants Welfare Board and extend legal aid for those lodged in prisons in foreign countries apart from extending employment opportunities to migrants returning to their home town.

The government should bear the expense of bringing back bodies of migrants who die in the Gulf for the last rites. Vinod Kumar assured that he would bring it to the notice of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and render justice to the migrants.
