Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is planning to visit Tamil Nadu on January 14 for Pongal.
Chennai:
Gandhi is scheduled to visit Avaniyapuram in Madurai to witness the jallikattu (taming the bull) event.
Announcing his leader’s visit at party state headquarters Sathyamurthy Bhavan on Tuesday, Alagiri said that “Rahulin Tamil Vanakkam” visit would be crucial in unseating the atrocious regime in the state.
Coincidentally, BJP national president J P Nadda would also be in Tamil Nadu on that day.
Gandhi would be touring the state for the first time since last year’s Lok Sabha election, when he unsuccessfully toured Tamil Nadu to gather support for the party.
Briefing the media, Alagiri said there was no dispute in finalising the chief ministerial candidate of the Secular Progressive Alliance and DMK president MK Stalin would become the CM after the front wins.
Taking a dig at the AIADMK-BJP combine on the issue, Alagiri sought to know how the alliance would do good to the people if it cannot even decide its CM candidate unanimously.
