Patancheru: To mark the birthday of TRS leader Gudem Madhusudhan Reddy, younger brother of Patancheru MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy, one of his staunch followers, Mohammad Jahangir, a vegetable vendor, sold tomatoes at Rs 2 a kg at Patancheru Market on Tuesday.
Celebrating his leader’s birthday in an innovative way, Jahangir bought about 900 kg of tomatoes from different vendors and sold them at Rs 2 a kg with a banner of his leader behind him. While tomatoes are being sold at Rs 10 a kg in the open market, the birthday offer attracted hoards of people, some of whom bought 5 kg.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Jahangir said Madhusudhan Reddy is always accessible to the common man, and hence he hit upon the idea to sell tomatoes at a cheap rate.
