Bibra Lake fire downgraded to advice level

The alert level for a Bibra Lake fire burning between Progress Drive, North Lake Road and Bibra Drive has been downgraded again, now that it is contained and controlled.

The fire was first reported about 12.44pm on Tuesday and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services warned there was a threat to lives and homes.

But at 2pm authorities said the fire had been contained, although there was still a possible threat to lives and homes as the fire was still burning in the area and conditions are changing.

Firefighters are on the scene and motorists have been asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully due to smoke.

North Lake Road has been reopened and there are no more road closures in the area.
