DMU stir suspended

Imphal, January 11 2021: The adhoc committee of the constituent colleges of Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) has resolved to suspend its current series of agitation and resume normal duties from January 12 following a meeting with the Chief Minister and the Vice-Chancellor of DMU.

According to a statement of the adhoc committee, issues on the absorption of the existing teachers of the constituent colleges and other matters of DMU were discussed during the first meeting with the VC and the Registrar of DMU at the former's office chamber.

The VC has assured of addressing the concerns of the teachers.

The committee also stated that its representatives met Chief Minister N Biren Singh at his office chamber in the presence of the Education Minister and the VC of DMU in the evening and placed their demands.

It further stated that the CM has assured to take care of their 'rightful' demands.

The committee thanked the CM, Education Minister, VC and the Registrar of DMU for understanding the plights of the teachers.
