55th Death Anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri observed

Imphal, January 11 2021: The 55th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri was observed today by the Manipur Peoples Democratic Front at its premises with MPDF founder cum secretary Sapam Samungou Singh as the president.

As a part of the programme, lectures were delivered on the works of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri during his tenure as a Union Cabinet Minister, Prime Minister of India and during the freedom movement of India.

Addressing the programme, MPDF founder cum secretary Sapam Samungou stated that the slogan of the former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan" will be remembered for all ages.

He mentioned that capture of the Haji Pir Pass of Kashmir by the Indian Army during the Indo-Pak War 1965 was through the policies and strategies of the former Prime Minister.

Later, floral tributes were paid and a two minute silence was also observed.
