First batch of Covid-19 vaccine for Northeast arrives at Guwahati Airport

Guwahati, Jan 12 (UNI) The first batch of COVID-19 vaccine for the Northeast arrived at the Lokpriyo Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati at about 5 pm on Tuesday evening.
This maiden batch contains 20 boxes of the vaccine, each having 12000 doses. Of this, 17 boxes are for Assam and rest three are for neighbouring Meghalaya.
SpiceJet flight no SG 7451 carrying the consignment left from Pune this morning.
The first phase of COVID-19 vaccination will start across the country on January 16.
Along with the rest of the country, Assam had successfully carried out the COVID-19 dry run.
