Indices Close At Fresh Highs, Nifty Tops 14563; Tata Motors Extends Gains
After flat start given weak global cues, Indian indices again gathered momentum to hit record high of 14590.65 on the Nifty and 49569.14 on the Sensex. And at the close, Sensex settled with gains of 248 points or 0.5% at 49517 while Nifty was up 0.54% at 14563. Also, Nifty PSU Bank gained a massive 5% even as the RBI's financial stability report point to weakness going ahead in the banking sector.

The gains today largely to do with momentum in heavyweight stocks such as Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank.
Among top gainers in today's session have been stocks like Tata Motors, Eicher Motors, GAIL, SBI and Coal India, while losers include Asian Paints, HUL, Titan, Sun Pharma and Nestle.
SBI in today's session gained up to 3% and inched closer to Rs. 300 per share.
Also, there was seen in traction in Tata group stock which gained. While Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's wife upped stake in another Tata stock Tata Communications.
Meanwhile, European indices were trading mixed withFTSE trading down while German DAX and CAC both were up.
