DIBRUGARH: A six-member team of the Election Commission of India (EC), led by director general Dharmendra Sharma, arrived here on Monday to review poll preparedness in the area.
The team, which also comprises Narendra N Butolia (senior principal secretary), Pankaj Srivastava (director of expenditure), Ashok Kumar (director of IT), Vijay Kumar Pandey (director of law) and Vipin Katara (EVM consultant), held a review meeting at the BCPL conference hall with the deputy commissioners, election officers and superintendent of police of 20 election districts where preparedness of the upcoming polls were discussed.
The EC team, which is on a 2-day visit, will hold another review meeting in Guwahati on January 12 with the deputy commissioners, district election officers and superintendents of police of 30 election districts and nodal officers of police, excise, transport and other senior officials.
