Woman dragged 'several hundred metres' on road in Brisbane carjacking
A young woman was "dragged for several hundred metres" along inner-Brisbane roads by her own vehicle after she was the victim on a carjacking late Monday.
The car crashed into a brick wall outside a church and police arrested a man at the scene, later charging him with a series of offences.
Police said a man and a woman were in a blue Mitsubishi Lancer hatchback parked in the Buranda Shopping Centre carpark outside Nando’s restaurant in Woolloongabba about 7pm on Monday.

The man went inside for food, leaving the car running with the woman in the front passenger seat.
It will be alleged another man then got into the car, sat in the driver’s seat and drove off with the young woman still in the passenger seat.
It will also be alleged the carjacker then pushed the female passenger out of the Lancer, resulting in her being dragged for several hundred metres while the car drove erratically.
Police said the Lancer eventually crashed into a brick wall outside a church in nearby O’Keefe Street.
A man was arrested by police officers who rushed to the scene.
The young female victim suffered "serious injuries", according to police.
Paramedics took her to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition with "significant abrasions to her body".
An 18-year-old man from Ellen Grove, in Brisbane's outer south-west, has been charged with the unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, robbery with violence, dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and unlicensed driving.
He was due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Detectives have appealed for dashcam footage of the Buranda Shopping Centre from 5pm to 7pm on Monday. Any witnesses or anyone who noticed a man acting suspiciously is urged to contact police.
The man has been described as aboriginal in appearance with curly hair in a man-bun style. He was wearing black shorts, a black t-shirt, and black, white and red hoodie.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
