Vodafone Spain runs 5G-based emergency services test in Malaga

Vodafone Spain said it joined forces with different emergency services units in Malaga to demonstrate how 5G technology can be used to improve communications between teams in rescue or disaster situations. The trial was organised by the University of Malaga on the grounds of the School of Industrial Engineering, with UMA Robotics and Mechatronics Research Group providing various autonomous and teleoperated robots for mapping, reconnaissance and location. The robotic systems and the human intervention teams all used Vodafone's 5G network to coordinate their rescue efforts.
