Gurgaon: Three masked men snatched a bag containing Rs 10 lakh and other valuables at gunpoint from a private company executive near Atul Kataria Chowk. The executive was attending to a phone call when three men came on a bike and snatched his bag and fled towards Palam Vihar on Monday.
Victim identified as Deepak Pandey, a resident of Delhi, works with a private company in Udyog Vihar. Pandey had gone to withdraw money for his company from a private bank in Sector 14. He was returning on his scooter with the cash when three men on a bike intercepted him near a nursery at Atul Kataria Chowk. One of the accused pulled out a gun and snatched the cash bag and fled from the spot. The bag had Rs 10 lakh.
Pandey in his statement said he received a call after crossing Atul Katria Chowk. He was on call when three men came close to him and snatched the bag at gunpoint. “Along with the cash, the bag also had a laptop and some important documents,” Pandey said.
On the basis of his complaint, an FIR was registered under Section 379B (snatching by using weapon) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Arms Act at Palam Vihar police station. “We are scanning the CCTV footage to identify the accused,” said ACP (crime) Preet Pal Sangwan adding that it seems the trio was aware about the exec’s movement.
