Shares of J&K Bank (up 9.88 per cent), Canara Bank (up 4.5 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 2.26 per cent), Central Bank of India (up 1.81 per cent) and Indian Bank (up 1.74 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 2.15 per cent up at 1841.25 around 12:52PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 45.50 points at 14530.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 83.57 points at 49352.89.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of hit their fresh 52-week high in today's trade, while Jump Networks Ltd, Vishal Fabrics Ltd, Shrenik Ltd, Salasar Exteriors and Contour Ltd, Simplex Castings Ltd and AVSL Industries Ltd hit fresh 52-week low in trade.
