NEW DELHI: Mumbai police crime branch filed a 3600-page supplementary chargesheet in the TRP scam case on Monday.
The chargesheet has been filed against Republic TV officials Vikash Khanchandani, former CCO of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) Romil Ramgadia and former CEO Partho Dasgupta.
Republic TV COO Priya Mukherjee, Shivendu Mulelkar, Robert Walter and Shiva Sundaram have been shown as wanted accused.
The crime branch has recorded the statement of 59 witnesses in connection with the case.
The Mumbai Police has been investigating the TRP manipulation case ever since the BARC, a rating agency, earlier this year complained to the cops that TRPs were being rigged by some channels.
The TRP scam came to light in October when BARC filed a complaint through Hansa Research Group, alleging that certain television channels were rigging TRP numbers.
Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh claimed in November that Republic TV and two Marathi channels Box Cinema and Fakt Marathi- were involved in manipulating TRPs.
