Kolkata: Leader of the Left Front Legislature Party in the assembly Sujan Chakraborty has written a letter to CM Mamata Banerjee requesting her intervention in the inordinate amount of time being taken to initiate proceedings under the anti-defection law against MLAs who were defecting between political parties in the state.

Chakraborty’s letter, particularly pointed to the case of MLA Dipali Biswas, who won her seat on a CPM ticket in 2016, defected to TMC later that year and has joined BJP now.
