The BSE METAL Index has plunged 2% to 12,677.
Among the top losers in the BSE METAL Index today are HINDUSTAN ZINC (down 4.9%), SAIL (down 3.9%) and NALCO (down 3.4%). Other losers include VEDANTA (down 3.0%) and TATA STEEL (down 2.6%).
COAL INDIA (up 1.3%) is among the top gainer today.
Over the last one year, the BSE METAL Index has moved up from 10,285 to 12,677, registering a gain of 2,392 points (up 23.3%).
The top losers among the BSE METAL during this same period were COAL INDIA (down 31.2%) and NMDC (down 2.4%).
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex has surged 0.5% to 49,269.
Among the top gainers in the BSE Sensex today are INFOSYS (up 3.4%), HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 2.4%) and HDFC BANK (up 1.9%). Other gainers include BHARTI AIRTEL (up 1.8%) and HUL (up 1.8%).
The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ITC and BHARTI AIRTEL.
In the meantime, the NSE Nifty is at 14,480 (up 0.5%).
