BMC in dark about 11 dead crows in Chembur?

As many as 11 crows were found dead in Mumbai's Chembur area on Sunday. However, BMC officials had said no such incident was reported to them. "We will find out the details," said Ajit Narode, assistant municipal commissioner, M-East ward.

16-year-old boy drowns in lake at Diva

A 16-year-old boy, who had gone swimming with his friends, drowned in a Diva lake on Sunday evening. The boy drowned due to shortness of breath while swimming. Rescue officials who were alerted in the evening by residents undertook a search operation to trace him. Today, around 10:50 am, his body was fish out from the water.

Animal Husbandry Minister Sunil Kedar said that a meeting has been called to decide on further actions after confirmation of bird flu cases. "When samples from Parbhani village were collected, we had ordered to cordoned-off the area and restrict incoming and outgoing travel till the people are tested," said Kedar.He also said that the centre too needs to look into it. The minister also urged people to boil the chicken or eggs at 70 degrees Celsius temperature.

The Mumbai division, including Mumbai city, reported 1,208 new cases and 12 deaths, taking the overall number of infections to 6,75,472 and fatalities to 19,247.
