COLUMBUS, Texas — Longtime General Motors dealer Tommy Brasher died Dec. 26 at age 79. He started working at Brasher Motor Co. in Weimar, Texas, in the late 1960s, then bought out family members to become dealer in 1984. He held that role until 2015, when his son, Scott, took over as the dealership celebrated its 100th anniversary. The business was sold in 2019. Brasher also was a co-chairman of the Chevrolet National Dealer Council.
