Imphal, January 10 2021: Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) continued to hold sit-in protests demanding Government and authorities concerned to appeal the 2018 drug haul case to a higher Court.

Several local units of CADA and local bodies organised sit-in protests at Imphal East, Imphal West and Kakching district.

Yaipha Ihou Women's Association and local CADA unit held a sit-in at Kodompokpi Mamang Leikai in Imphal West.

CADA general secretary Geetchandra Mangang spoke to the people and appealed the Government to appeal the 2018 case to a higher Court.

It may be noted that a Special Court of the ND&PS had acquitted former ADC Chandel Chairman Lhukhosei Zou in the case on December 17 last and since then CADA has been demanding the Government and authorities concerned to approach a higher Court and re-investigate the case.

Sit-in protests were also held at Khanarok Mayai Leikai Community Hall in Imphal East and Hiyanglam Wabagai Terapishak in Kakching district.

The protest at Khanarok Mayai Leikai Community Hall was organised by Khanarok Women's Development Association and local CADA unit.
