Spouse of Former Minister Moirangthem Hemanta dies in road mishap

Thoubal, January 10 2021: Spouse of former Minister and Vice President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Moirangthem Hemanta today succumbed to death in a freak road accident.

The road mishap happened in between Sora and Langthabal along National Highway 102 in Kakching District.

Former Minister Hemanta was travelling in a Bolero along with his wife Dr P Pratita (51) when the unfortunate accident happened.

Hemanta sustained minor injury and was given first aid at Jeevan Hospital, Kakching, after which he was referred to Shija Hospital for further observation.

The Bolero driven by Moirangthem Hemanta was coming along Kakching when a goat happens to stray into the road and to avoid hitting the stray goat, swerved the vehicle and collided with a Mahindra KUV 100 coming from Pallel side.

The unfortunate accident happened at around 10:30 in the morning.

Dr Pratita, is survived by two daughters.
