Philippine tower crane incident

The jib of a luffing tower crane working on the construction of a 23 storey apartment block going up on a site in Pasay City, on the south side of Manila, in the Philippines collapsed with part of it crashing through the roof of an adjacent building yesterday.

Thankfully no one was hurt in the incident and most of the damage was limited to the Lions Club.

It is hard to see what exactly went wrong from the photographs that we have so far received. The police are investigating the incident.
