Covid-19 vaccination for health workers in Odisha at 160 vaccination station sites

Bhubaneswar, Jan 10 (UNI) Covid-19 vaccination for health workers will be conducted at 160 vaccination station sites in Odisha, Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Das said here today.

The Minister said the vaccination programme will begin across the country from January 16. But so far there is no information on the quantity and the date of arrival of vaccines to Odisha.

He hoped that information will be made available after a meeting between the Prime Minister and Chief Ministers of different states scheduled to be held tomorrow.

The Odisha government has already conducted dry run for the vaccination twice - on January 2 and 8.

Director of Health and Family Welfare Bijay Panigrahi said vaccination will be conducted in all Medical Colleges and hospitals, District Headquarter hospitals, Sub Divisional Hospitals, Community Health Centres (CHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and in certain private hospitals.

Mr Panigrahi said arrangement has been made to inoculate 100 health works in each centre.

He said the government is ready with adequate stock of medical equipment and trained medical workers for the vaccination.
