COVID-19: Recovery rate crosses 96 pc

Imphal, January 09 2021: With 27,766 people already recovered from COVID-19 out of 28,646 infected by the virus so far in the State, the recovery rate has now crossed 95 per cent.

According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, the recovery rate has improved to 96.92 per cent as there are only 515 active cases (general population 496 and Central security personnel 19) as on Saturday.

However, a 55-year old COVID-19 positive man from Imphal West expired at Raj Medicity during the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 365 .

Moreover, 67 people were tested positive for the virus during the last 24 hours at Imphal West, RIMS, JNIMS, Shija Hospital, Escent Diagnostics, Jivan Hospital, Babina Diagnostics, Churachandpur and Noney.

They are residents of Imphal West (42), Imphal East (12), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Chandel (1), Churachandpur (6) and Noney (2) .

On the other hand, 31 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (2), home isolation (20), JNIMS (2), RIMS (3), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (3) and Shija Hospital (1) .

The cumulative number of positive cases is 28,646 (general population 25,260 and Central security personnel 3,386) and it includes 27,766 discharged cases (general population 24,403 and Central security personnel 3,363) .
