LeT hideout busted, one militant associate arrested in Pulwama

Srinagar, Jan 10 (UNI) Security forces on Sunday arrested a militant associate and busted a hideout in south Kashmir district of Pulwama.
A police spokesperson said that following specific information, police, 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 110 battalion of CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in village Chandhara Pampore, Awantipora on Sunday. “During search, a hideout of LeT outfit was found in the cowshed and was destroyed subsequently,” he said.
He said a militant associate, identified as Adil Ahmad Shah resident of Chandhara Pampore of proscribed outfit LeT, was also arrested. “Incriminating material and cache of ammunition, including 26 round of AK-47, were recovered from the busted hideout,” he said.
“Case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pampore,” he added.

The veteran leader thus echoed the profound sentiment ‘Naikam chakram paribhramyati’ – ‘You cannot move a chariot having a single wheel’ – enunciated by Kautilya aka Chanakya aka Vishnugupta of ‘Arthashastra’ fame.

“‘Samman’ – a related public awareness campaign – shall be launched on Monday,” the senior politician conveyed via social media.

Shimla, Jan 10 (UNI) There seems to be no respite from the recent outbreak of Avian Influenza among the aquatic migratory birds, as around 215 new birds succumbed to the fatal avian disease at Pong Dam Wildlife Sanctuary area, situated in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh,
The death count of birds rose to 4235 on Sunday, as 215 fresh birds were found dead at this International Ramsar site, indicating no sign of respite from the outbreak of Bird Flu, even after 10 days of rescue operation.
