Imphal, January 09 2021: The Police Department detained 258 persons and were released after warning for violating the guidelines and restrictions issued by the State Government and the State Disaster Management Authority in connection with COVID-19 pandemic including failure to wear mask in public places, failure to maintain social distancing in public places, spitting in public places to prevent the spread of the virus in the State and altogether fined a sum of Rs 31,950 ( thirty one thousand nine hundred and fifty) only as per law.

The Police Department also warned that the violators shall be dealt with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act 2005 and other restrictions.
