India to begin world’s largest vaccination drive on January 16

India’s nation-wide vaccination drive will begin on the 16th of this month. COVID-19 vaccine priority will be given to the healthcare workers and frontline workers who are estimated to be around 3 Crores, followed by those above 50 years of age and the under-50 population groups with co-morbidities numbering around 27 Crores.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister had chaired a high-level meeting to review the COVID-19 status in the country along with the preparedness of the States and UTs for COVID vaccination.
