Teen fights turns into open brawl

CCpur, January 08 2021: A retaliatory fight among teenagers in Churachandpur flared up into an open brawl last night, forcing the police to disperse the brawling groups using lathis and tear-gas shells.

The district administration also deputes a magistrate to assist the law enforcing agencies in controlling the violence.

Sources said the brawl last night was triggered by a series of fights amongst teenage groups, who organised themselves like 'gang' groups.

A day earlier, a video clip circulating in social media showed several boys repeatedly thrashing two others, likely from an opposing group.

The violent nature of the clip is believed to have led to a bigger brawl amongst the teenage groups.

The police while taking up the case reportedly apprehended two boys involved in the violent clip but their details are not made public as they are still minors and cases were also taken up under the Juvenile Justice Act.

It is learnt that the Churachandpur police are looking for the other person involved in violence.
