Two Babri Masjid demolition witnesses move HC against CBI court verdict

Lucknow: Two witnesses ofthe Babri Masjid demolition, Haji Mehboob and Syed Akhlaq Ahmed, have moved the Allahabad High Court against the decision of the special CBI court that had acquitted all 32 accused in September last year. The accused were acquitted on the major ground that the CBI court has acted “illegally and with material irregularity” while giving its decision.

The petition has sought the HC's direction to allow the revision by summoning the record and set aside the CBI court's order.

In the petition seen by ET, the two petitioners have submitted that they apprehend that the CBI may not file the appeal against the acquittal”under pressure of the BJP government”.
