NOIDA: Several private schools in the city have decided to take the admission process for nursery classes online. Form distribution, registration and even parent-school interactions before enrolling the students for this academic session will be done virtually.

However, in absence of a uniform rule, the schools are working on different systems that they have designed for themselves, leading to confusion among parents.
Officials in Noida’s Delhi Public School said that they have shut admissions in primary classes at their Sector 30 branch. However, the same branch is distributing admission forms for the branch in Sector 122. Also, the parent-school interactions for shortlisted candidates will be organised via videoconference.
“The admission process for our Sector 122 branch is on, forms are being distributed, and the interviews will be conducted online,” informed an official at the DPS administration office.
At Step-By-Step in Noida, admissions to Montessori classes are over at the school. “Our admission process for Montessori is complete for the 2021-2022 session,” said Kalyani Prayaga, in-charge of the primary and junior section.
Similar to Step-by-Step, the admissions to the nursery section in Shiv Nadar school too have been completed. “Our nursery admissions were closed in October,” the school offices informed.
At Cambridge school in Noida, the entire process of admission has gone online this year. The form has to be filled online and the registration fee has to be submitted at the school. A list of required documents has been displayed on the website of the school. The physical collection of forms, meanwhile, has been stopped for the year.
“The new academic session for 2021 and 2022 should start in April and admissions should be done 60 days before the session as per Uttar Pradesh Government rules. While many schools have made it online this time, parents are finding it difficult to track schools individually. We believe there should be a uniform system for all private schools to follow. Dates should be fixed for the admission process. Some schools completed admissions in October, while some are just starting. This needs to be regularised,” said Shivani Jain, president, All School Parents’ Association.
Meanwhile, there has been no directive for private schools from the Uttar Pradesh government so far. “There is no special direction from the State for private schools to regularise nursery admissions. These admissions are conducted by schools according to their own systems,” said Neeraj Pandey, district inspector of schools, Gautam Budh Nagar.
