While the
vaccination dry run on Friday in the
Mysuru region was largely a smooth affair, there were some glitches.
In Shivamogga district, it looked more like a routine affair with people milling around the health centres. Taluk hospitals of Soraba, Thirthahalli and Bhadravathi besides PHCs in Agumbe, Holaluru and Tunga Nagar in Shivamogga city were part of it. It was also conducted at two private hospitals. The health authorities seemed to focus on decorating the centres rather than conforming to the
SOPs. Designated staff in government hospitals arrived late and district officers did not maintain social distancing.
It went off smoothly at eight centres across Mysuru district from 11am till 4pm. The Kodagu district administration had picked six places where 25 health workers were trained. At Hassan, district health authorities conducted it for two hours at six hospitals with 150
Covid warriors participating in it.
MangaluruNearly 250 healthcare workers in Dakshina Kannada district took part in the dry run. Doctors, nurses and other staff were administered dummy shots at nine centres in Mangaluru. “We did not face any hurdles anywhere,” said district health officer Dr Ramachandra Bairy, adding, “All preparations are in place for the first phase of vaccination.”
UdupiThe
dry run was conducted in eight centres in the district. Deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha said all wings of the administration was roped in. “We’re implementing the programme in election mode,” he said. The 19,562 identified frontline health workers from both government and private medical facilities will be administered the vaccine first.
HubballiIn Gadag district, the dry run was conducted at five hospitals. District RCH officer Dr BM Gojarnur said it was successful and entering details on the vaccine portal was smooth. In Ballari district, it was conducted at Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences, district hospital and six other hospitals -- 200 healthcare workers took part.
BelagaviThe dry run was held in over 200 plus centres in Belagavi district with 25 health workers at each place. Not a single glitch was reported anywhere. District Health Officer Dr Shashikant Muniyal said the exercise has boosted the confidence of the health department.
