The Central Government has given relief to serving DLAD teachers who have completed the qualification. The government wrote a letter to the chief secretaries of all the states, instructing them to give equal opportunity in recruitment to the teachers who have done online D.L.D from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). This relief will be given to 15 lakh unqualified teachers who have done D.L.D online under the Right to Education Act.

In a letter sent by the National Teachers Teacher Council (NCTE) Deputy Secretary T Pritam Singh to the Chief Secretaries of the states, the state government should recognize teachers who have done D.L.D online from NIOS.

If such teachers apply for a new job or position under teacher recruitment then they get a chance. The NCTE has also cited the Bihar High Court's decision in the letter. Following the High Court's decision, NCTE has accepted the teachers of the said course for new applications.

The Uttarakhand TET Teacher Association took up this matter before NCTE. After this, NCTE has asked all the state governments including Uttarakhand to give opportunities to such teachers.

This was the whole matter

The government passed a resolution in Parliament to conduct online DLED courses from NIOS to provide professional qualification to about 15 lakh untrained or unqualified teachers under the Right to Education Act. These untrained or unqualified teachers were serving in government and private schools. After completing the course, he completed the eligibility criteria.

Although the government has completed their professional qualifications, some states including Bihar have not allowed them as new applicants in teacher recruitment. After this, the matter reached the Patna High Court. In February 2020, the court ordered permission for such teachers in the application.
