Two arrested for robbery worth Rs 7.60 cr at jeweller's shop in Palghar

Palghar, Jan 9 (UNI) With the arrest of two people from a village in Jharkhand, the Rural Police on Saturday claimed to have solved the case of robbery at the jeweller's shop in Boisar town of the district on Dec 29 last year.
The police team apprehended the duo from Shibganj village of Jharkhand recently and also recovered 324.800 gms of stolen jewellery worth Rs 14 lakh as well as cash of Rs 5.50 lakh, an official said.
They were identified as Badruddin Kadir Sheikh (28) and Hasim Faizuddin Sheikh (32).
According to official, the gang of thieves had ripped open the vault and cash box with the help of gas cutters on the night of fateful day and fled with jewellery worth Rs 7,00,17,234 and cash of Rs 60,00,000, collectively worth Rs 7,60,17,234.
Police are on the lookout of a security guard who was recently employed at the shop and is among those at large.
Police are carrying out further probe into the crime and are also making efforts to recover the remaining stolen booty from the accused persons.
