MADURAI: Two men were arrested on Friday for peddling ganja in separate incidents in Madurai city.
One of the accused Vigneshwaran, 22, from Meenakshi Nagar in Villapuram was arrested by Avaniyapuram police. The police seized 1.5 kgs of ganja from him.
A team led by sub-inspector Athikunda Kannan arrested Vigneshwaran from a private school near Meenakshi Nagar.
In another incident, G Dharmar, 36, Pookarathoppu in Ellis Nagar was arrested by the SS Colony station.
A police officer said that based on a tip off that ganja was being sold, a team led by sub-inspector Perarasi rushed to the Bodi Line area and arrested the accused. 1450 grams of ganja was seized from him.
Later, a case was registered against both men under the Narcotic Drugs Psychotropic Substances act.
