ESIC sends Rs 2cr bill to UP for treating Covid patients

Ghaziabad:ESIC Hospital in Sahibabad, which served as a dedicated Covid facility, has served a bill of over Rs 2 crore to the state government for treating non-ESIC patients since April last year. From April 16 last year till Thursday, the hospital had treated 1,546 patients.
The hospital has calculated the amount as per the government’s reimbursement rates for Covid and related illness in private hospitals, which in turn, is based on the Ayushman Bharat scheme rates for general ward at Rs 1,800 per bed per day.
Notably, several hotels, which were acquired by the administration for accommodating doctors on Covid duty, had earlier submitted a complaint to CM’s office over non-payment of dues.
Meanwhile, a senior health official said that they have received the letters and the hospital will be reimbursed.
