Advocate Vikas Singh, who represented the Rajput sisters, stated in the court that Telemedicine Practice guidelines permitted a doctor to prescribe medicines after online consultation.
He added that due to the coronavirus pandemic, Sushant could not go for physical consultations and hence, the online prescription.
However, senior counsel Devdutt Kamat, appearing for the Mumbai police, claimed that no online consultation was done and that a WhatsApp chat between Sushant and his sister on June 8, 2020, showed that Priyanka procured the prescription without any consultation, online or otherwise.

"The police has evidence to show that an unidentified man went to the OPD of the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital on June 8, 2020, and took a token and later, a prescription from the accused doctor Tarun Kumar," Kamat said. Advocate Satish Maneshinde, appearing for Rhea, sought dismissal of the petition and said that one of the circumstances that may have led to Sushant's death was the "dangerous cocktail of drugs and narcotic substances and medicines".
"Rajput was under Rhea's care for 14 months before June 8, 2020, when he asked her to leave the house. During that period, Rhea ensured that Rajput took his medicines and never mixed them with drugs," he stated.
Sushant was found dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14, 2020, post which his father KK Singh had filed an FIR against Rhea and her family, claiming cheating, money laundering and abetting his son's suicide. The case was later transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI ) and the agency is currently probing into the actor's death.

Besides the Rajput sisters, the FIR, which was lodged by Rhea on September 7, also named a doctor, Tarun Kumar, from Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia hospital. As per Rhea's complaint, the sisters, along with the doctor, fabricated fake prescriptions for Sushant so that he could purchase anti-depressants.
