Kolkata, Jan 8 (UNI) A single-judge bench of Calcutta High Court today asked the state government to make appointment of primary teachers in two districts which remained pending since 2009.

Justice Tapobrata Chakraborty observed that the state education department must publish the appointment lists of the two districts - Malda and North 24-Pargana m 15 days and the appointment process be completed in another 15 days.

Justice Chakraborty also said that the state government should create new posts if it finds that there is no vacancy.

The bench issued the rules after dozens of candidates moved the court challenging the erstwhile Left Front government's policy of appointing teachers in primary schools in 2009.
