F5 buys Volterra, guides for higher Q1

F5 Networks said it has agreed to acquire Volterra, a universal edge-as-a-service platform, for about USD 500 million, including USD 440 million in cash and USD 60 million in deferred consideration and assumed unvested incentive compensation to founders and employees. F5 said the deal will help it create a security and app driven edge platform for enterprises and service providers, with unlimited scale: the new Edge 2.0 open edge platform.
