Pawan Kalyan demands govt to make clear its stand on protecting temples

Vijayawada, Jan 8 (UNI) Jana Sena Party president K Pawan Kalyan on Friday demanded the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government to make it clear its stand, on protecting the temples from being attacked.
In a statement here, the actor-turned-politician said there was still no clarity on the government stance on providing protection to the temples' properties and idols, and taking measures.
''They had announced to set up CC cameras in all temples during the burning down of chariot in Antarvedi. They are repeating the same words even now after beheading of Sri Kodandarama Swamy idol at Ramateertham,'' he flayed.
''There are around 26,000 temples within the jurisdiction of the Endowment department in the state. Out of these, which temple has been given CC camera vigilance? It still remains a question.
''It is not fair for the government to advise the temples to make their own arrangements for setting up CC cameras and also supervision,'' he said.
The Government, which failed to provide funds even for daily temple rituals, asking temples to make their own arrangements for CC cameras, was certainly shrinking away from its responsibilities, Mr Kalyan added.
