NOIDA: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath may visit Noida on the occasion of UP Diwas, which will be celebrated on January 25 at Shilp Haat in Sector 33A, official said on Thursday. While the Noida Authority plans to have projects worth Rs 415 crore inaugurated on the occasion once the visit is confirmed, speculation is rife that Adityanath could announce some big-ticket state projects with eyes on next year’s assembly elections.
“The CM is likely to visit Noida for UP Diwas, which will be celebrated in a grand way at Shilp Haat. His programme though is yet not confirmed,” said district magistrate Suhas LY. “Western UP’s rich culture will be displayed at the haat, which will include a depiction of Braj bhoomi and Mathura city. A model of Ram Mandir may also be placed at Shilp Haat to mark the celebrations.”

An exhibition of all 75 districts of UP will be held at the haat, along with cultural programmes, to mark the occasion. Projects that are likely to be inaugurated by the CM include the Film City parking in Sector-16A, an underground parking in Sector 3, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park in Sector 150, Bio-diversity Park in Sector 91, a shooting range at the Sector 21A indoor stadium, a modern auditorium at Panchsheel Balak Inter College in Sector 91 and the light and sound show in Sector 15A.
Meanwhile, sources said that the land in front of Shilp Haat may be used for a makeshift helipad for the CM, and his programme may not be limited to the achievements of Noida-Greater Noida alone “but may include the announcement of some state-level projects”, with eyes on the UP assembly polls due next year.
