Boris Johnson condemns Donald Trump for inciting Capitol riots

London, Jan 8(UNI) British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday criticised US President Donald Trump and said he was "completely wrong" to cast doubt on the US election and encourage supporters to storm the Capitol, saying that he "unreservedly condemns" the US president's actions.
Four people died after a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol Hill building in a bid to overturn the presidential election result.
Mr Johnson condemned the "disgraceful scenes" at Capitol Hill and called for a "peaceful and orderly transfer of power".
Mr Johnson, speaking at a Downing Street briefing, welcomed the confirmation of President-elect Biden, saying "democracy has prevailed".
Mr Trump had incited his supporters to march on the Capitol after making baseless claims that there had been widespread electoral fraud and saying that the election had been stolen from him.
Even though he later called upon his supporters to "go home", while he continued to make false claims, leading to Twitter and Facebook freezing his accounts.
