Ex-Councillor and Ward Member join BJP

Imphal, January 07 2021: Ex councillor of Mayang Imphal Municipal Council and current ward member joined BJP today.

The newly joined members including Nongmeikapam Indira who was elected as councillor from Congress ticket twice and Moirangthem Thama Devi, current ward member who contested from Congress ticket, their families and workers were welcome to BJP by Deputy Speaker Kongkham Robindro at a programme held at the residence of Nongmeikapam Indira at Konchak.

Speaking at the programme Kongkham Robindro said Manipur and Mayang Imphal in particular will see the coming to life of many so called 'social workers' who were once the representative of the people but had been lying dormant following their lost in the last election.

He said social works can be continued even without winning the elections and said people should be wary of such people who only come alive during the time of election.

Deputy Speaker K Robindro said he has never used public funds for personal gain or for the benefit of his relatives or close ones and said the people should withdraw their support if proofs were found stating otherwise.

He also said instead of viewing everything from the narrow lens of politics and alleging the Government of wrongdoings, people should come out in the open and suggests ways and means to revamp and rectify the mistakes if any in the development work undertaken by the Government so as to benefit the whole State.

Mayang Imphal AC was known for frequent violence during election times and we should encourage and work towards getting a violence free election and that will eventually lead the way towards making Mayang Imphal a developed constituency, added MLA K Robindro.

Nongmeikapam Indira said she joined BJP because of the selfless dedication and work of Deputy Speaker K Robindro under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh, who are working towards bringing development to the whole state.

Speaking on the programme, Irom Rabi, President Mayang Imhal BJP Mandal urged the people to support the BJP candidates in Ward no 13 in the upcoming Mayang Imphal Municipal Council election.
