Canada’s RYU Apparel Inc., which raised close to $6 million in 2020, is scaling its North American wholesale division. It recently nationalised its wholesale sale teams across Canada and has now turned its our attention to building its US and Mexico sales and distribution teams, the company said in an end of year update from its chief executive officer Cesare Fazari.

The addition of the new capital resources will enable RYU to continue to establish itself as a global lifestyle and purpose performance activewear brand with approved trademark Urban Athletic Apparel, Fazari said.

RYU's new Golf Apparel design team will be led by James Chapman, an expert in innovation, trend, suitability and cutting-edge 3D digital design technology, he announced.

It has entered into a partnership as the official high-performance clothing and bag provider for Canada Skateboard and team representing Canada at the upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games along with 7-Eleven, Red Bull and Swatch.

There is also a partnership to launch a North America-wide campaign for Generation Active with Zoom Media and media proprietor François de Gaspé Beaubien.

Late last year, the company’s e-commerce team completed the launch of 46 new styles on RYU's updated Shopify website and its partnership with Afterpay.
