Gugu Mbatha-Raw to Star in 'The Girl Before' Series for BBC, HBO Max In Talks for U.S. Partner

Gugu Mbatha-Raw is set to star in a new series for BBC and HBO Max is in talks to be the show’s U.S. partner.

The 37-year-old actress, who recently appeared in the Apple TV+ series The Morning Show, will lead the new psychological thriller series The Girl Before, an adaptation of the book by JP Delaney.

Deadline reports that The Girl Before follows “Jane, a traumatized woman who falls in love with an extraordinary minimalist house, which remains under the spell of the architect who originally designed it. But when she discovers that another damaged woman died in the same One Folgate Street property three years earlier, she starts to wonder if her own story is just a rerun of the girl before.”
