‘BROK the InvestiGator’ Mixes Beat ‘Em Ups With Point & Click Adventures

Posted on January 7, 2021January 4, 2021 by Joel Couture

When you’re sick of figuring out which items are needed to open a door, you can always punch people in the face. I’m intrigued, BROK the InvestiGator.

The game takes us to a light cyberpunk future where humanoid animals have replaced people (I’m kinda far more interested in this kind of cyberpunk than most of the others that are flitting about lately). You control Brok, former boxer and current detective, as he finds out some unsettling details about his departed wife. Details that might have something to do with the world’s current situation. With your help, he’ll follow that trail of information to its source, uncovering what’s happened to the world and his loved one.

Now, you have a few options on how you want to solve this. The game can be played as a pure point & click adventure (fights can be skipped) if you trust your mind over your fists. If, like me, you tend to get a bit frustrated at some of the puzzles in adventure games, you can also knock some heads in through the game’s beat ’em up moments. You’ll often choose how to play through the game’s challenges (and these choices affect the story), allowing for a bit of action alongside the puzzles. A lovely combination, especially when a hard puzzle leaves you irritated.

BROK the Investigator brings a charming cartoon style and a neat genre blend, making for an adventure that I’d love to take part in. Luckily, the free prologue is available now if you want to test out this mixture for yourself.

BROK the InvestiGator is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can grab its free prologue, support its creation on Kickstarter, or add the full version to your Steam Wishlist.
